New Year’s A Time to Reflect and Re-Set Visions, Strategies and Goals

January 2, 2012

If you are working in a medium or large sized company chances are that you have been working on forecasts and new project ideas for the new year for months already. There is still a chance to reflect with a break, fresh look and a more rested brain on whether the initiatives planned for the new year make sense and if there are areas that are gaining traction that you had not considered in your plans for the next 12 months. Review you innovation vision! Does your vision sill work for you? If so, do the projects you’re pursuing and putting your time and money into align with this vision?

The engineer part of my brain wants to work on the latest technologies and create flexible solutions that adapt and grow easily; while the business side of my brain wants to get products into the hands of customers yesterday. There is a time and a place for both sides of my brain and hopefully at the same time.  I have found that I have had to take a step back to look at what the company’s vision and goals are which I am working with to figure out if I need to re think initiatives or strategies.  I have learned to stay focused on what the vision is. Are the projects your company is working on in line with your innovation vision and strategy?
